Project Description

This design intervention is a result of an extremely tight timeline and a leap of faith. The client had a last minute change of plans, which resulted in a void which had to be filled; they trusted our team to design and deliver a space fit for the stars! Designing for the Vogue photographer and pretty much the entire showbiz industry, we decided to keep the idea extremely simple and have the light deliver all the magic.

The form follows function approach led to the use of folded plates staggering up converging walls to heighten perspective.  While the source of light was recessed along the folded plates, it mimics the idea of a photographer’s studio light room.

The layout of the intervention is intended for a clear movement path for the users. The fast-paced nature of photo booth photography may be maintained, and celebrities may be free to strike poses as their whims desire, and each instance may be captured without hesitation and delay. The spontaneity of the photographs is the success of the design.

The design was derived from the idea that the best photographs come with plenty of Reflected light, so balanced lighting was achieved through employing various reflective surfaces.
